Many people ask if the application of eyelash extensions can damage their natural lashes. As a NovaLash educator I can't stress enough to my trainees that it is essential that lashes are adhered to a clients natural lashes on a lash by lash basis.....one extension to one natural lash ! Providing the lashes are applied in this manner - it will cause absolutely no damage to the lash line as the lash will be able to shed naturally as as part of your regular lash shedding cycle , without causing any irritation or stress to the adjoining lashes. As part of our natural lash cycle, we can expect to loose between 1-5 lashes per eye per day. When we have lash extensions, the majority of lashes shed should consist of an extension with the root of our natural lash attached. When the time comes for our maintenance appointment, a skilled technician will remove any loose lash extensions so that all remaining lashes are neat, then fresh extensions should be applied to the new lash growth. Top up's are usually required every 3-4 weeks to maintain a full lash line.
